Building Believers Inc.

Dear friends and families,

It’s that time of year again, when I humbly request your continued financial support;
“Helping Me Help the Kids.”

Building Believers Inc. is a community based youth sports organization.

Through the years, with your support, BBI has been able to offer (on and off site):
Basketball camps, clinics, team & community building programs, to those with a greater need
Fellowship of Christian athletes speaking engagements
Sports & educational based counseling
Community service to youth

Your financial support is needed the most, as we continue to offer these services to families and communities who lack the necessary means to support the growth and development of children through sports based initiatives.

Below is a list of our 3 main goals for 2016:

·         Partner with a needy community in the North Texas Area, and jointly host long term after school programs, weekend basketball clinics, and holiday and summer camps for youth grades 1st-8th. Through these programs, we will build relationships with individuals that will improve their self-confidence, self-worth and self-esteem.
We will also strive to raise educational & family values, build character and integrity, and strengthen communities with the love of Jesus Christ.

·         Reinvest in our HHB/BBI facility
Gymnasium: repair ceiling, refinish basketball court, replace bay doors and purchase maintenance equipment
Outside:   install a French drain, improve parking area, repair and paint outside building

·         Hire and train energetic staff who are led and called to serve in our youth sports organization as BBI continues to spread the love of Jesus Christ through sports based initiatives.

Building Believers Inc. is a 501(c) 3 organization. Your donation is 100% tax-deductible.
You may donate online:   www.buildingbelievers.org

Dare & Choose Happiness:

So I conclude, that first, there is nothing better for a man than to be happy and to enjoy himself as long as he can; and second, that he should eat and drink and enjoy the fruits of his labors, for these are gifts from God.
Ecclesiastes 3:12-13

Committed to Playing Hard?

Only when a player plays hard on every possession, on both ends of the court, all the time and everyday can they say that they're fully committed and giving their best.

Hoop Hunter Tip for Student-Athletes:

What's It Worth To You?
The price that student-athletes must pay to have a high and meaningful amount of success (in the classroom & on the court) is often a much higher price than they're willing to play.
"If you're not getting what you want from your current output, then you must find other ways of increasing your output, because what you're currently doing isn't enough."

The Perfect Combo Platter; Jesus & Everything That Concerns You

[Jesus Christ & Holiday Blues]
During the holiday season, if a person (Christian) starts to feel down and out (and began to get the blues), I suggest that they kneel before the lord in constant prayer and dedicate themselves to reading and hearing the word of God daily until it brings comfort and peace to their hearts and souls.
The Perfect Combo Platter; Jesus & Everything That Concerns You!

Payers Should Play Basketball Without Boundaries

Until players decide to play basketball without boundaries (not giving it everything they've got) there will always be limits of what they can and can't do placed on their game by themselves and their coaches.

About Playing Time

During the course of a season, remember not to get down on yourselves if you're not getting the minutes you believe you deserve. Keep working and chopping wood until you get your opportunity.
Something to remember:
Working your way into a line up and/or the rotation may take more time than you can wrap your brain around. But if this is what you really want, you must respectfully buy into the coaches philosophy and game plan or else, odd man out!
Hang in there, regroup if you need to and be the biggest cheerleader on the sidelines.

A Personal Testimony

I didn't think it could be, until it happened to me, huh?

[Me living a Christ centered life?]

As a young adult, I strayed from walking & living a Christ centered life.

And each time that I felt the need to start living righteous,I started to second guess whether I could ever be cleaned up enough to "sincerely" be the child of God that He created me to be, less known be the person that my mother & father raised me to be.

What was I thinking?

"My parents raised me in church (where I played drums) to be a Christ centered person. But as I became a teenager, I began to notice that the outside world opposed my Christian upbringing.

And that's when I started to feel like the "Lone Ranger."

As a teenager and young adult, the more I tried to honor Christ, the more peer pressure I felt to ignore the Christian values and principles I was raised and taught to respect unless I when to church on Sunday.

[Giving In to Peer Pressure]

Once I gave in to peer pressure (because I cared too much about what others thought about me if I didn't) I found myself trying to fit in (being a follower) rather than leading by example, not good." Oh, and guess what, I never truly fit in, it was simply a figment of my imagination.

The new guy!

Today, I no longer "stand"  convicted because of my past failures but I "kneel" (giving thanks to God) because I've been forgiven and redeemed from all of my past, current and future sins and trespasses by the blood of Jesus Christ.

Undeserving Grace & Love:

Because of God's grace and unconditional love for me (that I did nothing to deserve) I made a commitment to live my life as an unashamed faithful follower of Jesus Christ.

In Service:

Today, I'm thankful to God for calling me out of sin and into a life of service.

The fruit & gifts of the spirit that he's given me is and will forever be shared faithfully with those in need.

My prayer:

Dear lord,
Thank you for calling me out of a life of sin and leading me into a life of service for the lord.

"May the work and life that I live, speak for me."

In Jesus name Amen.

"Living for Christ isn't easy but it's worth it and it ain't for no wimps"

UNT Men's Basketball Update: My Alma mater

I will be speaking tomorrow to the UNT men's basketball team prior to the opening of their season which beings Friday, Nov. 13 vs Jarvis Christian at 7:30pm.

I would encourage all everyone to join me at some of the games this season, it's a great way to spend quality time with the family and kids. And bring your neighbors too.
Whatever God calls you to do, do it to the best of your ability and to His delight.

Going the extra mile

Players who choose to make a sacrifice and practice (an extra 15 to 30 min a day) during the season tend to maintain a higher than normal success rate than their teammates and opponents.

Hoop Hunter Starting 5 Line-Up:

1. "Teach" all who are willing to learn with a sincere heart, regardless of their talent, skill level and experience. And teach depth.

2. "Motivate" all who are willing to work and accept constructive criticism when needed, but don't exasperate!

3. "Inspire" players in a way (by using words) that makes them want to give their best, everyday.

4. "Encourage" players to believe that nothing's impossible when they put forth their best effort daily.

5. "Praise" players as often as needed. Coach and build them up. We bare that responsibility.

These are the principles that HHB Organization uses as a guide to help impact the growth and development of each person/player.

Hoop Hunter Tips for Players & Coaches

The biggest and most important piece to the successful play of each team is whether or not all of the players are in tip top shape.
Getting a team in shape doesn't have to be through unnecessary means (anger, threats, belittling and the use of profanity) but coaches need to find more motivating, creative and *fun ways to get players in shape excluding the use of the clock. The honor system works best for me (give your best, do your best and be your best).
The Truth:
Teams with players (all) that are in tip top shape often play at a higher level and for a longer period of time against their opponents!

Hoop Hunter Tips for Parents

(Extended version)
When young men and women join the United States Army, Navy and Marines, the parents and friends of these individuals tell them prior to joining, "you must respect, obey and adhere to everything that your commanding officer ask or tells you to do," and everything will workout just fine.
But when it comes to basketball, many parents feel that they have the right to tell their child (player) what they want them to do (from the sidelines) while disregarding what the coaches want them to do. This is wrong!
[I call this conflict of interest!]
Parents, yes the players are your kids and yes you have a trillion rights under the parental laws act, but when it come to sports, you bare the responsibility of teaching your child to respect the authority of their coaches; and you too must learn to accept the fact that it's not your team and that you're not the coach, you're the parent.
And finally parents, stop trying to coach your kids from the stands because this often interferes with who's instruction the player (your child) is going to follow.
It also further complicates things and brings on more conflict and dissension between the coaches and you, the player and coaches and the fans in the stands and you.

Legitimate Basketball Concerns & Truths that Requires Attention

1. Most middle and high school basketball players can't make open shots and neither can they make shots with a hand in their face.
2. Most teams have 1 possibly 2 shooters and the rest either can't shoot or aren't asked to shoot? And how many players are on the team 10-12?
3. Most teams have only 1 decent ball handler; and the rest handle the ball by committee.
4. Most players who play the wing can't make good entry passes to the post while being defended heavily.
5. Most players don't realize how much better they can be if they would simply put in more (personal) work.
6. Most players have a false sense of reality, they really don't have a true and meaningful picture from which to measure themselves.
7. The lack of adequate conditioning normally limits the level of production and play of each player. All athletes have a difference conditioning peak point.
8. Players who start and play most of the game also have several deficiencies in other important areas of their game; and some even lack the confidence needed to compete against good competition! But you would never know that and neither will they tell you.
9. Most athletes don't set personal & team practice and game goals. Most simply show up and play. Measuring their day to day success isn't as important and playing the game.
10. Most players don't set aside enough meaningful personal time to watch game film of themselves and the team to learn from their mistakes and to improve their play. But they should!
Bonus:
Most players don't have a good concept of the game because they don't watch enough of the game to learn how it's suppose to be played!
The above list are things I would like to see change and get better for all student-athletes!
[Please note that the statements above don't apply to all players, but most]

Raising The Bar Takes Courage

[Student-Athletes,Stop Settling]
I believe that student-athletes have the ability to achieve a higher than normal level of success in the classroom and on the court. But they must be willing to dedicate themselves (in a way they never have before) to making the necessary sacrifices needed to achieve the success that we all know they're capable of achieving.
Stop Settling!

How to keep your game sharp throughout the season

Spend and extra 30 minutes a day on a couple of specific areas of your game, it will help you keep the dust off your game and keep you sharp and game ready.
Suggestions:
1. Conditioning (fun runs-line drills, no clock) honor system.
2. Defensive slide and run & taking a charge.
3. Contesting a shot and blocking out
4. Free Throws (make 8-10 or 10/10)
5. Walk through of your offensive and defensive assignments.
6. Practice making the shots that's you're likely to get out of your team's offense.
7. Practice making entry passes to the post while being defended.
8. Practice running the floor.
9. Practice setting your man up and moving without the ball.
10. Film yourself if possible and watch your work. Also watch game film.
Bonus: Play shooting games like horse & out often. And finally, play light games of 1 on 1, this will help keep your read and react sharp.

Daily Deposits

As much as we work and as long as we live, we may never make the amount of money that will allow us to invest in stocks and bonds or nevertheless make bank deposits on the regular basis (as often as we would like too), but what I will say, is that throughout our lives, we have the ability to make meaningful deposits into our lives such as; love, joy, peace and happiness, everyday that we awaken!
Meaningful Deposits:
~Love deposits
~Joy deposits
~ Peace deposits
~Happiness deposits
And for those who deposit these 4 essentials into their lives everyday, when they get old, it will never matter what they look like, where they live, how their home looks, how the assisted living retirement center looks, what neighborhood they live in and what car they have to drive or ride in.
All that will matter is that they are cashing in on the deposits that they made throughout their lives which were to live a life that was full of love, joy, peace and happiness.
As for me: Hoop Hunter
When I get old, don't look for all those counterfeit material things that too often people value as important which really aren't.
Just know that regardless of where I'm at and what I have, I will continue to give & share with you and others my love, joy, peace and happiness. Those things that I deposited everyday in my life that were important to me, everything else is meaningless!

Basketball Tip for Players

Everyday that you go to practice make a list of 3 areas you need to improve and work at it with diligence, discipline and enthusiasm.

Basketball Tip for Coaches

Always give your best to all kids all the time regardless of their athletic capability, social economic status and parental influences.
Search the heart of each kid until you find their strengths while continuing to build on their weaknesses.
Talk about family values, being persons with good character, integrity and responsibility (and you lead by example).
Find ways to create a culture that embraces higher academic standards.
And never quit on a kid.

4. Lack of trust

"Adversity has the ability to help student-athlete rise and reach a level of perfection that elevates their play and academic performance."

"Adversity also teaches good and bad things, but I also believe it's the one most important ingredient needed to help us develop, grow and sustain a meaningful life (worth living) that's full of unmerited grace, humility, selflessness, acceptance and unconditional love."

Basketball Tip for Today

Being a student-athlete means just what it says, student-athlete.
You are a student first and athlete second.
Don't allow your priorities to get out of alignment.
"There's no such thing as athlete-student!"

Thought For Today

1. I loved you when you thought you were unlovable.
2. I forgave you each time you asked.

10. I'm with you now regardless of where you are in life.
Who am I?
I Am (Sweet Jesus)!

Basketball Tip for Today

A good shooter is someone who makes wide open shots consistently.
An excellent shooter is someone who makes shots while being contested by a defender consistently.
A good shot is considered an open shot. Coaches draw up plays to get open shots.
"If you (the player) can't make open shots and/or contested shots consistently, then you are considered a streak shooter and/or a poor shooter."

The Bible

The good book (The Bible) has answers to help anyone overcome anything.
Reading and meditating on God's words will give you the best antidote for all of your day to day problems and will help you live a sincere Christ-centered life.
"I faithfully stand on it."

Did You Know?

Back in the day.
Nearly 25 years ago, two of my teammates were current Oregon St. Head Coach Wayne Tinkle #32 and current Washington University Head Coach Lorenzo Romar (right of me).
Little did Romar know that his leadership, character and Christ centered life had a compelling impact on me becoming a unashamed Christ-centered person and leader.
And Wayne of course is still a good friend who has continued the success that he displayed during his college and professional playing days.

Hoop Hunter Wisdom and Proverbs 4 All High School-Student Athletes

"The Ball's In Your Court"
Do your best to be a good person. Be the person others think you are when no one else is looking. Maintain a healthy relationship with your parents. Never think of yourself more highly than your family.Be meek and humble. Give your best in the classroom. Try to achieve a higher than normal level of success with your academic studies. Be willing to take classes that none of your friends are willing to explore. Evaluate your friendships. Be willing to excuse yourself from those who are taking life, education, family and whatever your passion is for granted. Always be willing to give back to your community and the kids who look up to you. Never let yourself down. You let yourself down when you stop working hard and believing in a dream. Be willing to work at everything that you do as if you're working for the lord. When competing, learn to go hard everyday and all the time. Always leave your best on the court and/or field. Remember never to look down on those who aren't as fortunate as you. Be willing to socialize with the least of them as long as it doesn't negotiate the God given life principles you've been raised to maintain. And last, the best way to help others is to lead by example and leave positive footprints for them to follow.
An Anointed Word!

Only God Knows a Child's Fate In Life

I continue to be sickened by the number of people who think that they have the expert opinion to predetermining what level of success a child and/or teenager can have throughout life while under their leadership.
If those who feel that way about young people would only give them a fair chance, work with them and not prejudge or stereotype them like so many others have done, perhaps they could help them achieve success in a way they've (the child/teenager) always imagined or never knew.
"Before an adult can change the heart of a child, they must change the manner in which they think."
[Stinking Thinking, Sickens Me]
That's my two cents!

Hoop Hunter™ Basketball: Champ Camp's Musical Chairs

We hosted a camp this summer (June of 2015) and we thought it would be fun and informative to teach the kids a fun new way to dribble a basketball

Attention All Teachers & Educators

Teachers bare the responsibility of helping children from All walks of life learn; regardless of race, learning disabilities and/or their socioeconomic status.
When educators teach with unconditional love and a sincere heart; it helps to rule out prejudices!
"All Lives Matter"
"All Lives Matter"
"All Lives Matter"
"All Lives Matter"
"All Lives Matter"
"All Lives Matter"
"All Lives Matter"
A song for ages:
Jesus loves the little children, all the children of the world, red, yellow, black and white all are precious in his site, Jesus love the little children of the world.
"Don't think that you're doing a child a favor simply because you're asked to go out of your way to help them, going out of your way to help a child learn should be the norm (a teacher's creed). And in the eyes of God almighty it's the right thing to do."
That's my two cents!

The Question I Get Most Often

Q: How have you managed to keep the doors open at HHB when you do the least amount of advertising (24yrs)?
My Answer:
1.The bible tells me that if I put God first that he will supply all of my needs, so I do that.
2. The bible also say's that he that dwell in the lord shall be given the desires of his heart, so I've learned to do that.
3. The bible says that whosoever obey the word of God can faithfully ask for anything and according to God's will, it will be done, so I do my best to obey God (the Holy Spirit acts as my conscience guide).
4. I seek first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness (literally) everyday and the word says that he will add the things that I need to my life, so I do that.
Ultimately:
Over time, I've learned to live by faith. It's not always easy but I'm committed to serving God and the will that he's laid out for my life.
"Seeking him and doing his will is the only thing that matters."

A Story About So Called True Friends

Some people (who are christian's) would like you to think that they're your friends as long as they believe that (together) your lives mirror one another, and any time they hear that you have a problem; teenage issues, changing schools, choosing to do business with people they don't like, personal ideas that are different from theirs, uncertainties, let downs, career related concerns and/or anything else for that matter that's opposite of what they think or believe, they jump ship.

But let the truth be told, the thing that makes true friends-friends is the fact that together, both people know that neither are perfect and that life at times has a way of causing people to feel broken, ashamed and can cause one to have a feeling of despair at times, it's normal.

Something to remember:
True friends share life's successes and failures without any prejudices and without being judgmental!

To put it simple, if you have friends who choose to leave you simply because your life no longer mirrors theirs, perhaps they weren't your friend (s) in the first place (motive driven); however don't hate, pray for them and keep it moving!

 All you need is Jesus!

Friday, August 7, 2015

Making a decision to live by the truth and the word of God takes courage and discernment.
It's not easy for Christians to fully and faithfully surrender their entire life to living for Christ; in many cases most are too concerned about what others will think and most just can't seem to let go of being in control.
I understand the hesitance that most people have when it comes to "surrendering all" and I can personally relate to the fear that most have when it comes to committing everything they have to living a Christ centered life.
For me, (many years ago) I felt led to make the commitment, and by doing so, I discovered a newness for life that I can't explain but are filled with many blessings.
And today, I'm as confident as ever that God's word is the living word for each of our lives and that the promises God has made (to his children) will be fulfilled to the fullest to those who fully and faithfully put all of their trust in Him.
Remember, you don't need what the world says you need to have joy, peace, fulfillment, love, happiness and purposeful living.
All you need is to fully and faithfully surrender your entire life to serving the true and living God and He will bring and spread his promises to you (and your family) throughout your life.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Hoop Hunter Proverb

"Stop Settling 4 Second Best"
Players who choose to settle for second best only delay the inevitable, failure!

Becoming a Successful Basketball Player Isn't Easy, It's Hard Work

"Players Should Be Told the Truth"
As a former division I MVP [UNT- basketball], I feel it's my responsibility to tell players the truth about how hard they must be willing to work to become successful at playing the wonderful game of basketball. But what I see out there and what continues to concern me is the the fact that so many capable players are being misled and told that they're good enough but in reality they need to improve their game in a variety of areas in order to compete at a high meaningful level.
Many are led to believe that they're ripe and ready but let the truth be told, many are far away from reaching their full potential because they're not willing to put forth a sustained effort to be the best that they can be. And there lies the problem!
"And in addition to that, hard work sometimes make cowards of players."
Take it from me, "To be successful at anything, you must develop, have and/ or maintain a diligent relentless work ethic, meanwhile remaining meek and humble."
Too often young players base their success on what team they're on and who they know. Again, I find this baseless and harmful to the reality of where players really stand as it relates to the hard work and sacrifices they must make to become a good solid basketball player and team player.
Although the truth sometimes hurt, it's reality and it can set you free from living with a false sense of security.
"If you want success in basketball and in life, you must dedicate yourself to constantly improving your game and/or your craft."
The Key:
Leave the pact, become a trailblazer, get to work and start developing the new you!

"Becoming The Ultimate Champion"

Not everyone will win a championship but when you commit to being a diligent hard working person, the champion in you will surface.

Stop letting others fool you, sustained success is hard and it takes a high level commitment, dedication and humility.

And for those who want it bad, you will endure lots of adversity along the journey but don't quit, it's worth it!

"Only You Can Awaken The Champion!"

HHB Chooses to Care:

Choosing to care about the player-person before, during and after basketball is a no brainier at HHB.
We believe that self-driven players should be well taught, encouraged and led in a meaningful direction for success on and off the court by their coaches, mentors and role models.
We also believe that players should be given responsibilities that compliment their talent, skill sets and their overall capability to succeed in the areas of their gifting.
"Coaches, mentors and role models, It's not that hard, it's a matter of caring enough about the player-person and choosing to be selfless. Or in other words, doing the right thing."
A friendly reminder:
Since someone took the time and interest in caring about you, you should therefore take the time to care about the overall needs and success of those you've been entrusted!

One of my favorite bible verses:

If you want favor with both God and man, and a reputation for good judgement and common sense, then trust the lord completely; don't ever trust yourself. In everything you do put God first, and he will direct you and crown your efforts with success.
Proverb 3:4-6

My Way Maker:

"Authentic Hope"- A deep sincere belief that God will accomplish what He has promised.
Throughout the bible God has always proven himself faithful to His children by keeping the covenants and promises He's made with those He love.
For me personally, my life has a tremendous amount of meaning simply because I've chosen to live my life in the best way that I can by honoring his word and placing all of my hope in Christ. And by maintaining a close, sincere day to day relationship with him (spending time in the word, praying, meditating on scripture and hearing the word).
What I've learned:
My way is made straight daily because my earthly and eternal authentic hope is in the lord Jesus Christ,
"God-my personal way maker!"

Living In Victory:

Don't let the world or your fare weather self-righteous friends fool you. Many have made several mistakes and have caused lots of pain and heartache towards others than you will never know.
Learn to forgive yourself:
The sooner you learn to forgive yourself for everything that you've ever done (every sin), the sooner you will begin to live in the victory that Christ promises and offers to all.
All Sin & Fall Short:
If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not within us. If we confess our sins, he (God) is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
1 John 1:8-9

That's My 2 Cents:

Whatever Happened To Academic Excellence?
The best way to earn a college scholarship is through educational academic excellence.
Too often young people put all of their eggs in one basket therefore limiting their options for attending college because they look to one specific area as the only avenue in-which they feel they can earn a college scholarship or achieve a high level of success.
In my opinion, if you're a student or a student-athlete and you want to go to college, remember to cover all of your bases starting in the classroom first so that your options are limitless and your choices are plentiful.
That's my 2 cents!

Just Ask! Just Ask! Just Ask!

"God wants to bless us"

We have not, because we ask not. God wants to bless us (His children), especially those who are faithfully doing their best to trust and obey His holy word.
If you have a need, want or you desire something on earth that hasn't been fulfilled, take your request (faithfully) to the lord in prayer and leave them there.
"God wants to bless us, because he loves us".
Matthew 7:7
Ask, and you will be given what you ask for. Seek and you will find. Knock and the door will be open.

Teenage Rebellion

For those of you who are now teenagers, please remember that your parents raised you from 0 to now and never did they teach you to become smart mouthed, anti-social with the family & siblings, disrespectful and self absorbed (it's about me, me, me,me me).
So, If you've stepped out of bounds with your parents, simply look in the mirror and look at the friends you're now keeping. And there you will find the problem.
So stop placing all the blame on your parents for the way in which you've started acting and start taking responsibility for your poor attitude upon yourself. You and your friends know that you are no longer acting like the person your parents raised you to be.
It's never too late to repent, apologize, choose better friends and get back on track.
Don't let the likes of rebellion cause you to take your family through unnecessary "you know what."

The biggest asset for basketball players are their parents

The biggest asset for b-ball players today are their parents. Parents are everything a player-person could want and more. And they have the ability to positively or negatively impact the thoughts and actions of their children.
Too often young people are too absorbed with themselves to fully understand the importance that their parent can have on all phases of their lives.
Something to remember:
God gave children parents so that they could help them, love them, encourage them, support them, teach them how to overcome obstacles, confide in them, believe in them and teach them how to be the best that they can be.
Proverb 1:8
Listen, my son, to your father's instruction and do not forsake your mother's teaching.

Hoop Hunter Short Basketball Memory

While playing point guard at UNT, I remember asking God right before tip off to give me the strength to play to the best of my ability and to help us compete, play as a team and win.
Bonus:
Prior to every home game, when my parents could make it (because they often had to work late), prior to tip off, once I saw them take their seat, I would shed a tear of joy and the game was on!
Just seeing my parents sit in a stadium to watch me play, gave me the biggest self-drive, motivation and the will to compete of my life.

Paint Your Own Picture of Yourself

Most go through life with an image and picture of what others think and perceive them to be. And in many cases that picture doesn't reflect nor depict them to be who they really are.

Do yourself a favor and get rid of those pictures others have painted and start painting your own creative picture of yourself.

You'll never be happier unless the picture of you is genuine, authentic and has been painted by you (the artist). After all, nobody knows you like you.

"Be your own artist and paint your own picture. Your destiny in life belongs to you, not the picture others have painted that they want to say belongs to you."

High School Girls Play-Offs

The next round for all area high school teams is going to be rougher and tougher. In fact, it will be more difficult for either team to advance if they step on the court and take their opponent lightly.

"It doesn't matter how young and/or old and experienced a team is these days, all that matters is that every player on the team (including their fans) believes their team can win.

Players must use poor calls by an official(s) to motivate the team meanwhile making sacrifices for the good of the team. If a player is on the bench, they must become the biggest cheerleader-motivator that has ever lived. Their value and voice(s) are equally attached to the play of the team.

And last, no matter what the score, players must trust and believe that their coaches are smart and will put them in a position to win.
