As A Life Coach

As a life coach and leader of a Christian youth sports organization my responsibilities are to spread the Gospel through the gifts God has bestowed upon me, teach and empower young talented trainers to build up each player (to believe in themselves) regardless of their athleticism, talent and/or lack of, be great mentors and role models and last to create an atmosphere where parents, players and coaches can feel good about the overall work and growth of each student-athlete.

I have a dream

That one day, middle & high school coaches, players, parents, athletic directors, AAU coaches and youth league coaches will learn that its in the best interest of the children that we learn to work together meanwhile respecting our differences and leadership roles for the good of All children, All families and All communities.
"When we work & put our resources together we have strength!"

Did You Know?

Did you know that HHB gets lots of phone calls from middle & high school coaches & A.D.'S looking for good above average coaches.
We are known among our professional peer group as an org. with integrity who helps to further develop young talented coaches who are willing and ready to impact the lives of children in a healthy and spirited manner.

As a Christ Follower

My responsibility as a Christ-follower is not to lead you to Christ but to set a good example of what a follower of Christ looks and acts like. Meanwhile knowing that none of us are perfect and should never be judgmental of others who choose not to follow.
The choice is always your. And God bless us all!

The 2015 New Hoop Hunter Hustlers Off-Season Club Team Program

This upcoming off-season, we are gearing up for an exciting experience for the players, families and fans of basketball.
My goal as the leader of a Christ-centered youth sports organization is to provide players the best possible opportunity to learn the game basketball from a team setting. And for others prepare you to be the best high school and college player that you dream of becoming.
My original goal from the start was to create a 1 stop shop organization where players could come train, improve in areas of need and learn to play the game the correct way. And also assist those who are interested in becoming a college-student athlete (or simply get better for high school play) if that was the goal.
This season, I'm proud to announce that we are currently preparing for an upgraded club team program. And with that said, all of our teams this season will play a total of 9 tournaments with 2 tournaments being played in either; Austin, San Antonio, La, Oklahoma & Houston.
Yes, we are taking it to the streets and guaranteeing our players that with their commitment, hard work and team work, we are going to help them improve and prepare them for reaching new levels of play.
And last, "if your high school coaches can't come watch and enjoy it, then something's wrong." We support middle & high school coaches being a part of our program particularly when they have players involved.
Oh, and the cost is $1550.00 per player (excluding room & board & meals on 2 of the out of town trips). Initial payment March 1st is only $450.00
"We want you to have an experience of a lifetime"

Players vs Coaches & Understanding Different Personalities

If players could learn to understand and master the psychology of sports and how to understand the different personalities of coaches while under their leadership, they would do much better as they near the latter part of their high school & college careers.
It doesn't make sense to invest so much time playing ball as a kid and when its time for things to pay off, they don't because young players are having lots of trouble understanding the different personalities of their coaches. Either way it goes, when this happens, everyone loses.

Love & Forgiveness Are Winners

"Don't Cheer Your Friends In the Wrong Direction"
In sports and life people often get overwhelmed by things that are sometimes disappointing and hard to understand.
And in many cases they tend to turn to their friends for answers but watch out because some friends are only interested in gossiping, tabloids and watching you become a public spectacle. They will also encourage you to do things that are not always in the best interest of you, your child and the parties involved in the situation.
When facing a trial, it's always easy to point the finger at others and not the problem. I've learned throughout my sports career that "It takes two to tangle", and with that said, there's always room for both parties to share some of the blame.
Something to Remember:
When facing difficulty, don't take your problems to the public nor a judge for they have the power to make matters worse than what they really are. And remember, things are never as bad as they seem.

"Whatever you do, don't seek revenge!"

God allows trials and tribulations to occur in our lives to develop and strengthen us so that we can become mature in our ability to persevere and overcome all things.
Therefore, we should all learn to forgive one another and let the worries of yesterday be a thing of the past. It's best that all parties regroup and give each other another chance to work through all things that has led to the ongoing problems.
And when looking for an answer to a problem, choose prayer first before sharing all of your personal business with those who are encouraging you to do things that truly aren't necessary. Your best line of defense will always begin with forgiveness and prayer.
Love & Forgiveness are Winners!

Tonight is Your Night

If you're a high school basketball player and you have a game tonight, let tonight be the night that you come out and make a statement, beginning with warm-ups.

When the opportunity to play arrives, be ready to pour it all out on the court.

And remember, it's those little things that you do that are so important to you increasing your minutes on the court.

The Want To List:
-Rebound
-Block out
-Talk on D & O
-Win 50/50 balls
-Be aggressive
-Be active & alert
-Be competitive
-Make smart decisions
-Limit turnovers

You can do it. I believe in you.

HHB, Committed to bringing people in sports together

When people, organizations, coaches, players, athletic directors and parents are divided, they appear to be no more than an Island for away from land working independently for their on personal gain.
Something to remember: Working together we can make a positive difference in the lives of children, families and communities and change the world.

2015 Brings A New Vision with New Responsibilities

Because of my success, experience, failures, relationships, networking capabilities, reputation, history and love for the game of basketball; I feel that it's my personal responsibility to teach players and youth coaches how to best help one another and live out their dream, if they're willing to work together and put forth the effort.
