Hoop Hunter Note Regarding Advance & Intermediate Players

I recently wrote a personal definition of what I believe from my perspective it means to be an Advance or Intermediate level player. Since I just finished writing it, I'm letting it marinate before I release it.

My opinion of what an Advance Player or Intermediate Player is, is not based on that which comes from the eyes of a parent. It is based on the history and present success of players who work hard and compete and who has a relentless drive that fuels their passion daily.

The bar is high and will always remain high. There will always be a first and last or an A, B or C team or letter grade A, B, C, D & F, or First Team or Second Team or Green & White Team.

However, no matter how you look at it, in the end, those who plow and sow will reap the benefits if they don't quit.

It's not personal, it's reality. And remember, don't let the likes and dislikes of the word, Advance or Intermediate define you. Keep it in perspective! It's simply a way of giving you a benchmark & idea of where you are. Which player are you?

Hoop Hunter Wisdom For Life; Don't Quit

Don't quit, your destiny is around the corner. Keep the faith and fight the fight. You are not a quitter. There's a winner inside of you.

Throughout my life, I've had my fair share of trials and tribulations but I chose to remain faithful while knowing deep inside of my heart, that I'm a winner.

When others who I thought I could count on for help left me high and dry, I had to remain faithful while knowing I am a child of the most high and that "I Am A Winner!"

THERE'S A WINNER IN ME & A WINNER IN YOU TOO-JUST DON'T QUIT!

There's a winner inside of you, just don't quit. Keep trying, keep believing and keep trusting that the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob who created us in His image is still doing work through us even when we fail, fall short, make mistakes, don't hit our mark, when we run into obstacles, when we don't measure up to others; but we MUST NOT QUIT!

Don't Quit!

What The World Needs

All we need is love.
All we need is love.
All we need is love, love.

All we need is love.

Stop Judging & Start Loving

Owe nothing to anyone- except for your obligation to Love one another. If you love your neighbor you will fulfill the requirements of God's law.

Romans 13:8

Stop Judging Others; For The Bible Tell Me So

Accept other believers who are weak in faith, and don't argue with them about what they think is right or wrong.

Romans 14:1

Who are you to condemn someone else's servant? Their own master will judge whether they stand or fall. And with the lords help they will stand and receive His approval.

Romans 14:4

The Truth

When we grow to become mature in the lord, it will cause us to develop a sincere love for people who are so different from us without being judge mental.

People Jesus would have shown love:

People with body piercings, varying hair color, gays & lesbians, homeless, people from different races & skin color, people w/ learning disabilities, obesity, personal religion preferences, divorced and people who live in certain zip codes.

"My personal goal is to live a life reflective of Christ's love towards others"

It's our (HHB) turn

Throughout life, coaches & teachers take turns sowing into the lives of children, teenagers and young adults in a variety of ways. I'm humbled yet grateful to all who felt led to become a coach and or teacher.

As we (HHB) prepare to head to Santo and work with the Lady Cats (one of my favorite programs), we are mindful and thankful to all of the coaches & teachers out there who have also made a huge impact in the lives of these young ladies.

And hats off to coach Tony Raffaele who has a genuine heart for his players, the parents, the program and the community of Santo. He is to be commended and he's a winner!

It's Our Turn!Lol

Impacting the World & Spreading The Gospel Through Sports Takes Meditation, Prayer & Courage

Being called by God to be a stewart of a Christ-centered youth sports organization requires lots of mediation, prayer & courage; and the ability to surround myself with Godly people who love the lord and who feel called and led into the youth sports ministry field to serve and not to simply make money!

In the wide world of sports today, most players, fans and many coaches are driven by the word Hype. And for me, that word has no value. That's why when we are in need of growing our staff, we often pray for the right person (s) to join our mission. It's not our will, but God's will that we want done. And to do this and make the right decisions, takes lots of meditation, prayer & courage.

Persons with incredible gifts who are not on fire for the lord, we often have to pass on for the moment as it relates to being in a position of leadership on the mission field. Meanwhile hoping that God will open their eyes and give them a passion to serve him and not their gifts.

I personally believe that serving youth, families, coaches & communities through sports is the most rewarding  & exciting way to honor God and impact the world for Christ.

1 Corinthians 15:58
Therefore my dear brothers, stand firm.  Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

"When Players Believe In Themselves, They Open The Door To Endless Possibilities" DH

When players stop doubting and start believing in themselves, their eyes are immediately open to the endless possibilities that lie ahead for them to have an enormous amount of opportunities and success come their way.

Stand Still & Let The Lord Fight Your Battles

While living in a world that's full of darkness, sin, discourse, hatefulness, self-pride and the rich vs the poor, we often face triumphant trials and tribulations that too often we can't explain. One minute life is good and the next it seems to confront us with obstacles that doesn't make any sense.

Q: What are we to do when this happens?

Foot Note: Moses & The Exodus (Exodus 14:13-14)

Moses answered the people," Do not be afraid, Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still."

A: As believers in Christ, we are called to place our total dependency on God Almighty. When we face trials and tribulations, we are to call upon the name of the Lord through Jesus Christ (this is where our prayers get the power) and let Him fight our battles.

2 Chronicles 20:17

Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the Lord with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; to morrow go out against them: for the Lord will be with you.

The Power of Fervent Prayers

The power of fervent prayers can change things in our lives.

Too often people are afraid to ask others to pray for them because most think that they're invincible or simply okay.

We'll let me be the first to say, we're not all okay all the time, we (all) need fervent prayers sent to heaven daily.

Remember, we're (all) spiritual beings living in a mortal body who was created by a supreme spiritual being (God Almighty); and He longs for us to maintain a personal relationship with him through prayer and meditation, regardless if things are going good or bad!

Together, lets continue to send our fervent prayers to the lord for each other.

The Now Factor

Life is short, therefore when we focus on yesterday or tomorrow we tend to forget about the Now, we short change ourselves.

Where you are Now needs to be fully appreciated and embraced because there's never going to be a place like it.

Remember to like you, be you, do you and love you.

Live Now!

I'm Convinced

I'm convinced that if student-athletes would commit themselves to a task that would challenge them to achieve a higher level of success, that they too will discover that everything they've always wanted was right there inside of them.

Never Doubt Yourself!

Believe & Do The Work

If players would simply believe in themselves and choose to work for what they want, they too can achieve a high level of success on and off the court.

Too often, young talented players get lost in the shuffle by walking around hyping other players up rather than taking on a personal growth and development attitude and working towards the goals and dreams that they've had since they were kids.

It's never too late to start working and believing in yourself. The ball's in your court, get to work.

Hoop Hunter B-Ball Note

You have what it takes to do and be what you want to be if you believe in yourself and you continue to work.

Remember, all things are possible for those who believe.

Parents who have a BEEF with a coach

Parents who have a BEEF with the coach should consider ordering something different on the menu such as BUFFALO or try dinning at a different restaurant.

If you want success for your child, leave coaches alone and respect their authority
